Panel title: From the lab to the market: The stakeholder game - On how to eliminate the friendly fire
|
| |
Panel topic: The security & privacy battlefield is getting increasingly complex. This does not only assume the front line, but also the internal forces of the security & privacy guardians. The path that leads from the research labs to the market and deployment front-line is shaped by multitude of internal forces stemming from the interests, motivations and views of myriad stakeholders. These forces are frequently directed in opposing directions, often reinforced by the lack of communication and, consequently, understanding. Some of the more influential stakeholders include: researchers, businessman and regulators.
The panel is composed of prominent members of the various groups of stakeholders that are shaping the security & privacy horizon. Our aim will be to shed some light on the above-mentioned forces from the stakeholder perspectives. Thus, we hope to make a step forward in the direction of the mutual understanding required to facilitate the advancement of the community as a whole in the era of pervasive ICT.
On the behalf of the Panel Moderator and the Panelists, I cordially invite you to contribute to the discussion on this burning topic that will follow the opening statements by the Panelists.
Boris Dragovic, Panel Chair
